Hi there!
I’m Kate, your breeder, supply sender, & if all goes as planned your friend.
I’m a rather boring, easy-going person from
As said, I have had a passion for animals since I was very young & it’s continued throughout my life. I think it all started from basically being raised on a farm. We lived next door to my Uncle's farm & I helped with the animals on occasion. I think being a little bit of a country girl made me respect nature, animals, & life a little more.
I’m very simple. I don’t want much out of life, just to be happy with my family & accomplish something useful
.
I got my first chinchilla when I was in the 2nd grade & absolutely fell in love with her. Her name was Kiki, she was a wonderful chinchilla throughout her years. (And of course having to put up with me ALL THE TIME!)
She was a hit with my friends too, she was always out of her cage hanging out with us. After a few years my friend got one (a male) & we had play dates. About a year or so later my friend moved & was unable to take him with her, so I took in, Galileo. As there wasn’t much known about these animals back then I didn’t know about breeding practices & caged them together. Kiki & Galileo were together for some time & eventually produced 1 kit, Roo. About 6 months later Kiki ended up passing away which was extremely hard on me. A few months after that so did their kit. It was very heartbreaking & to this day do not know what happened. I added in some new chinchillas over the next few years & started to build my knowledge of breeding & breeding lines. Galileo lived quite a few years later, but never produced another kit!! I kind of thought he was going to be the ever-lasting chinchilla. He passed at the age of 12 very unexpectedly.
I have continued my love for chinchillas & over the years have grown in many ways with them. None will ever take Kiki & Galileo's places, but I love them all for different reasons.
I have gotten into sugar gliders & hedgehogs over the last few years as well. After being friends with several other glider-hedgie owners, I too couldn’t keep my hands off them for long.
Breeding & rescuing animals is a very important thing & takes a TON of time, but also a lot of money, knowledge, & responsibility. Bettering the lines of the animals should come first to your thought when thinking about taking on the breeder role.
I’m currently a stay at home mother to my son, Kaiden. I love being able to stay home with him & watch him grow. I’m truly blessed with a wonderful family, furry & non! I love taking photos & ALWAYS have my camera near by. I love portrait photography & have been working on setting up a little studio out of our home for hobby.
I have to put a big Thank You to my husband, Christopher for putting up with my animal loving! He helps in so many ways with the animals & is so supportive for me & my passion.
