This is generally easy, but hard at first to find out what all is needed to keep your little ones healthy. They need an assortment of goodies too keep them up to good health. For starters they need at least two clean bowls a night. One will be filled with fruits. I make a fruit ice cube as well, with a mixture of baby food fruit, juice, & real fruit. You can use frozen fruit too, just NO citrus or canned fruit! In the other bowl you will be putting in the veggies, like carrots, green beans, zucchini, a little corn (its very high in fat & that’s bad.) They like peas, spinach pretty much anything. Just try new things, one day they will like something & the next they won’t & visa versa. Mine REALLY love unsalted & unbuttered mashed potatoes & any kind of noodle(without the sauce.)
Some other things they need are called the BML Diet & the Zookeepers Secret Diet. They are proven diets that have all of that they need in it as a reassuring thing.(You know they are at least getting a bit of everything that they need.) Although, they DO need the others as well, & not just the BML & or ZKS, they will become sick if they just get that. Tablespoon of BML diet/ZKS,1 tablespoon mixed fruits,1 tablespoon of veggies,& plenty of insects. (Meal worms(10 to 12 a day.), crickets (7 to 8 a day.), pinky mice(one every other week or less..)* an expecting female glider needs extra protein!! I add out BML / ZKS to their veggie bowl. As for the mealies, crickets, & pinky mice we hand feed those so we know they are all getting them.
They also give a special cricket supplement, by Mazuri food. It works well & they like it, sprinkle it over their fruit to soften it. (Make sure to soften any hard foods.) You can also give a number of other things that you also eat, just watch the salt, seasoning, fat, & sugars!! I also feed mine some juice because they like it & it help prevent constipation.
There are a number of glider supplements you can use for your gliders (mainly finding them on line since gliders aren’t very known & pet stores normally dont have the best foods.) Try to make sure to only fed foods low in phosphorous Foods. High levels in this will be bad for them since it basically neutralizes their calcium intake.
Be open minded about what you feed, but also be smart about it! You also can switch things up so its not the same meal every night.
(The diet of your pet is a very serious thing!)
