Lumpy Jaw (Impacted Salivary Gland)

An infection mainly caused by the bacterium 'Actinomyces israelii.'

The infection generally takes place in the face & neck area of the glider. It is a slowly enlarging lump.

This can produce abscesses & can infect their lungs & digestive tract, as well as other parts of the body.

This is fatal if left untreated, but with Vet. care can be helped.

Bacteria that gets inside the facial tissue from surgery, infection, abscess or other trama.

To lessen the risk of Lumpy Jaw, be sure not to feed them hard foods. If you do, try to soften it if you can. In the wild they would eat sap & other liquids.

Symptoms include, Swelling of the face or neck, weight loss, not taking treats, or eye drainage.
