Weaning your gliders is a very easy job. All you really have to do is remove the glider from the cage with its parents. (If there are male & female joeys, you will want to keep the males in one cage & the females in another.)
Dont put the glider back in the cage with the parents after removing it to be weaned. The parents may get stressed from this & or they may end up attacking the young forgetting that its their baby.
Do watch the eating habbits of the freshly weaned glider to makes sure they are eating & drinking ok on their own. If they are not you will need to supplement things & show them licky treats like baby foods!!!!
You cannot keep a son & daughter with a mother & father or a brother sister pair they will inbreed & that is simply NOT good! If you are wanting to keep a family together you will need to get ALL males neutered.
Be responsible!
You may want to spend some extra time with your joey so they dont get lonely, add in a wheel for it as well as toys. This is also the BEST time to take advantage of bonding with your glider!
Good luck!
