Normally when your hog is giving birth you will not know it as they are pretty quite about it. The only thing you will hear is the hoglets squeaking.
They normally deliver late in the night or on into the morning hours, but like a human, it can happen whenever, wherever.
The mother hog normally has no problems giving birth & needs no help from you, as helping would more than likely just stress her out more. She will keep them in the hut, clean them off, keep them warm & everything inbetween.
There are cases of the mother rejecting a hoglet or two, so you will need to know how to care for a hoglet if matters turn to that.
There are also very limited cases of the hogs actually having birthing complications, but it CAN happen, so have a Exotics Vet ready just in case.
I know, i know, you will want to peek, but for the first litter & the first few days, i would stay out.. just give her time. But use your best judgement if you think she will allow it.. Many tame hedgies will still eat their young if you mess with them.. even if they are normally fine with you handling them. Heck, there have been know cases where the mother allowed them to be held one time, but the next didnt allow it & cannibalized her young.. weigh out the consequences & if its really worth that one peek.
