Cleaning is a BIG part of having a happy, healthy relationship with your hog. Cleaning can range in time span depending on how many you have & what kind of caging you use.

Either way, you will want to clean the cage every week or every other at most! I use pine bedding as its easiest to just fill & dump when cleaning.
Some people use litter boxes & or use pellet form bedding. I personally feel the pellet stuff is no good for them & have often seen Thistle trying to eat it.

All i do for cleaning is dump the pan or rubber maid container then take it to the shower give it & all the accessories a rinse in antibacterial soap..rinse well, then fill with bedding.

The wheel will NEED to be cleaned AT LEAST once a week if not more due to them pooing & peeing in it while running.
Its also a good idea to wash any pouches due to flaky skin & or them pooing or peeing on it. You also should sanitize the water bottle & food dish weekly as well.
