This is my Chinchilla breeding set up. It contains a 16 hole/cage run which I have also modified to accommodate to best fit my herd. I do not use breeding collars in my set up & find that makes the chinchillas & I THAT much happier! Our set up is not the biggest nor the best, but we are always looking to upgrade & keep it as wonderful as possible. (It happens slowly, but we may get there one day!) I have been working on continuously upgrading for about the last 10, years if that tells you anything. It changes quite often as i like to re-arrange things every once in a while & of course I’m always adding upgrades.(& chinchillas)
We have two windows in the basement for natural sunlight as well as a breeze when the weather permits. We also have a ventilation system to suck out the old stale air & an RO watering system to pump fresh water to their drinking lines 24 hours a day. Every other cage has a hammock in it for the chinchillas to jump & sleep in. Also every other cage has a hut for them to hide in. (This was a new addition & i do not have photos of the individual cages taken yet.)
Our chinchillas are more spoild than some children. They have a tv & a radio in their room. One or the other usually plays at all times. (We do turn both off at times too though!) They seem to do very well & stay calm when they have a tv or the radio playing. Their favorite station happens to be the oldies.

Here is our caging set up. (If you have a slower connection this may take a few moments to load.)

That is all for now.
