Salt Water Coral Reef Tank

Here is our tank that we have spent A LOT of money on & just about as much time on. It's slowly coming together as we cannot afford to fill a 90 gallon up with live sand, live rock, corals, & all the fish, inverts & so on.. So we are slowly building our community coral reef. So far so good, the only obstacle we have run into is the cycling phase which has stumped us. We currently are trapped in the hair algae phase & it just doesn't seem to want to go away. (if someone reading this has a cure PLEASE let me know..) We have tried A - Z, but nothing yet.. everyone just says its something you have to wait out & all tanks go through.. so we shall see. Chris is more the 'Buff' of on the salt tanks as i don't have the time to tend to it with all the other animals.. so its more his hobby. He has actually been working on learning coral propagation so we can grow & or sell our own..  (so you may want to watch the site if you are interested in corals & live around us..) *maybe we will be adding corals to our sales one day!!*

Salt tanks are by far A LOT harder to keep & keep up nicely over a regular old fresh water tank.. People who are into salt truly have dedication to spend all the time, money, & brainstorming that goes into it! *pats them on the back!*

Currently we have A TON of things in our tank; about 40 pounds of live sand, God only knows how many pounds of live rock so far.. We have over 50 snails & blue leg crabs. We have a shrimp(i named Fraaank *in an Italian voice*) There are two emerald crabs, a coral crab, two sand sifting stars, one red reef star, a Brittle star, about three tiny stars(unsure of their name as we didn't buy them & they were hitchhikers off the live rock), we have a lettucnutibranch(sp?), an olive snail, a bubble tip anemone, a blue spotted anemone, a reef anemone, one fivia (sp?) brain coral, daisy polyp coral, a sacrophiton (sp?)coral, a hammer head coral, many different mushroom corals, a plate polyp coral, zoo. polyp corals(button polypus), geonapora(sp?) coral, a sea urchin, one yellow tang, one clown fish, one dragonett, a Lawnmower Blenny, one Orange spotted rabbit fish, a TON of little 'sea bugs' & A TON of other things that i am forgetting..

All i have to say is salt tanks are SOOOOOOOOOOO much cooler than ANY fresh water tank!!!!<3

Well, time to show off the tank.. (hopefully getting the hair algae problem solved  soon!!!)
